Gloppen opplæringssenter arrange evening-classes at different Norwegian levels (A1-B1).The classes are held twice a week. In addition to the lessons, a Norwegian teacher will give you feedback during the week.
Many of our students are refugees, others have come to Norway because of family reunion or in order to study or because they want to find a job in Norway.
The Norwegian language
Norwegian, a North Germanic language, is spoken by about 5,5 million people. Although most Norwegian speakers live in Norway, the language is also used and understood well in the other Scandinavian countries.
Norwegian consists of two language variants, bokmål and nynorsk. Both are part of the Nordic language family of the Germanic branch of Indo-European languages, and both have equal status in Norway. In Gloppen we speak, write and teach nynorsk.
Although the Norwegian alphabet is similar to the English one, some vowels and consonants are pronounced differently. Also, there are three additional vowels in the Norwegian alphabet: æ Æ, ø Ø and å Å.
